Reddit User Creates GameBoy Handhandle of Nintendo 64 Controller
A Nintendo 64 controller was modded into a working, standalone portable Game Boy by merging it with the Game Boy Micro, a miniaturized version of the Game Boy Advance.
According to MaSaKee’s post, the image is displayed on the 2-inch Game Boy Micro screen.
As for the controls, the D-pad and joystick handle movement functions, while the two shoulder buttons, along with the A and B (blue and green) buttons, work the same way as they would on the Game Boy Advance. Start works as Start, while Z functions as Select. The C-buttons (yellow), on the other hand, control contrast and volume.
The back of the controller features a headphone jack. The memory card port has been retrofitted into a cartridge slot, and the whole device is powered by USB-C, near which the on/off switch is placed.
