2XKO Announces Downtime to Prep for Teemo and Early Access Release
Riot Games announced that the 2XKO beta will shut down a couple days early so that the developers can have more time to prepare for the early access release. The shutdown occurs on Oct. 3 at 9 pm PT, with the 2XKO Early Access beginning on Oct. 7 at 8 am PT, debuting Teemo as the newest playable champion. The announcement was made on Sept. 30 via social media post.
To participate in the closed beta, the player must be invited by another user who has already been granted access. Each player who received a beta key can invite up to three of their friends. Unlike in early access, progress made during the closed beta will not progress onto the full official release.
Riot Games will sponsor 22 community-run tournaments for 2XKO through the remainder of 2025. The sponsorship is part of the “First Impact” program, where each event will receive additional prizes for teams that win as a duo.
As for the official 2XKO release date, no exact day has been revealed. The beta is currently only available on PC; the early access for 2XKO, as of writing, is only planned for PC. Riot Games plans on eventually releasing 2XKO on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
