Roguelike Bullet Heaven Game Megabonk Tops 1M Copies Sold
On Oct. 2, 2025, Megabonk’s developer announced on X that the game had sold 1 million copies in just two weeks. Megabonk has been pretty popular with content creators and streamers lately, which contributed to its success.
The game has been the source of addiction for streamers such as Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar and Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, with the latter even saying that Megabonk might be the game of the year, presumably because of how much he enjoyed it.
Recently, the game has also clocked in over 80,000 concurrent players on Steam, which is a huge number for an indie game that seemingly came out of nowhere. As of the writing of this article, it is also number 11 in daily active users and top eight in Steam global top sellers.
Megabonk was released on Sept. 19, 2025, for the PC. As mentioned earlier, the game is a bullet heaven, which is the opposite of bullet hell. The player runs around killing hordes of monsters and picking up power-ups along their way to defeat the boss waiting for them at the latter parts of the level.
