Xbox Doubles Game Pass Ultimate Price, Updates Essential and Premium Plans

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate saw a 50% price hike and now costs $29.99 per month. According to the announcement published on Xbox Wire on Oct. 1, 2025, the new price reflects the expanded catalog, new partner benefits, and upgraded cloud gaming experience.

The announcement declares that the Ultimate plan will now include the Fortnite Crew service and the Ubisoft+ Classics collection.

Microsoft Gaming also pledges that, from now on, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access to over 75 Day One releases per year, citing the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, High on Life 2, Keeper, Ninja Gaiden 4, and The Outer Worlds 2 as examples of such releases.

Game Pass Core subscribers will be automatically moved to Essential, while members of the Standard subscription plan will transition to Premium, and Ultimate subscribers will remain on Ultimate.

As for Premium and Essential, starting today they will cost $14.99 and $9.99, respectively.

While Ultimate offers a catalog of over 400 titles, Premium comes with a list of over 200 titles, and Essential offers more than 50 games, according to the company’s statement.
