Nintendo of America announced on Sept. 25, 2025, that Doug Bowser, current president and chief operating officer, is stepping down on Dec. 31, 2025. The press release mentioned that he has held multiple leadership positions for more than a decade.

Bowser provided a quote reminiscing about his gaming experiences: “One of my earliest video game experiences was playing the arcade version of Donkey Kong.” He added that since then, all things Nintendo have been a passion for them and that leading the company has been an “honor of a lifetime.”

Upon his departure, Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of revenue, marketing and consumer experience, will take his place. Bowser mentioned that she is an exceptional leader and that her promotion is a “testament to her strong performance and strategic contributions to the company’s growth.”

Pritchard said that she is “humbled and excited to take on this new role,” and also hinted that Bowser has been mentoring her.

Doug Bowser is the fourth president of Nintendo of America. He succeeded Reggie Fils-Aimé in 2019. He joined the company in 2015 as the vice president of sales and marketing and was promoted to senior vice president of the same department in just a year.
